Milie Funk

Funk has been long arm quilting for the better part of the past twenty years. She started playing with quilting machines at the age of nine, when her mother got the first long arm quilting machine for her T-shirt quilt company.

Funk graduated magna cum laude from Olivet College with degrees in Biological Illustration and sculpture. By combining the fine art skills she learned at Olivet College, with the craft she honed since childhood, Funk has created a unique style.

Showing at Alumni shows in Olivet, the East Lansing art festival as well as Arts Night Out in Old Town, Funk is slowly sharing what she’s been developing. Her style is continually evolving and changing as she experiments with what she can do with her quilting machine. Changing technology allows her to try novel things and expand quilting horizons.
