Fractal Woodburning Demonstration
Wood, electricity
More about: Mike Wonser

Mike will demonstrate the Fractal Woodburning process outside of GLAG.

Fractal woodburning or Lichtenberg Figures, is a process of applying an electrically conductive solution to unfinished wood, then using high voltage electricity and insulated probes to create burned patterns in the wood. As the electricity tries to complete a circuit, it makes unique and beautiful patterns in the wood that sometimes resembles lightning. Each piece is unique and depends upon the wood variety and woodgrain as well as the placement of the probes.
