Primitive Yet Polished
Jewelry
More about: Michele Parkinson

Best known for her twisted metal copper jewelry, Michele Parkinson employs conventional & non-conventional techniques to achieve her primitive yet polished designs. She finds inspiration in well worn & deteriorated things like, cracked concrete as well as rusted fencing & believes copper is a great medium to bring out those natural abstract qualities. She feels her jewelry speaks to those who are looking for something artistic & original & is as much art as it is accessory. She studied & continues to study art & jewelry design through available local educational organizations & through online resources. Her art has been displayed at galleries & boutiques in Northern Mi. including; Dragonfly Art Gallery-(Harrisville) AuSable River Art Gallery-(Oscoda), Tree Tops Resort-(Gaylord), & Besser Museum-(Alpena). She lives on the south side of Lansing with her husband & two dogs where she makes & sells her work (online) & soon on the shelves of Old Town General Store.
